India's Struggle for Independence - this used to be very popular with the people preparing for civil services.

You mean the Penguin title? It sells well, probably due to a lack of options.

The other popular text is by Percival Spear that covers the independence struggle period (part of a two volume history)

The Oxford book is also good in patches but has a horrible Indian print.
